The inductance-based corrosion monitoring system is a rapid technique for measuring the corrosion rate of metals in a given environmental medium. On-site equipment and pipelines are fitted with holes through which probes are welded onto connecting devices. These probes extend into the pipeline interior via the connecting devices, ensuring that the measurement specimens come into contact with the medium inside the pipeline. The inductance probes used as measurement specimens are made from the same material as the pipeline itself. If material selection is required, the material of the measurement specimens can be determined according to the specific material to be tested. Ultimately, changes in the corrosivity of the medium are reflected by monitoring the trend of corrosion-induced thinning and the corrosion rate of the probes.
