1985-2010

Corrosion Monitoring and Detection Division, Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences
Corrosion Monitoring and Detection Department, National Engineering Research Center for Metal Corrosion Control.

2011

Establishment of ZKWELL New type of online corrosion probe and OTA 5.0 monitoring platform launched and promoted for widespread use

2012

Expanded business into corrosion inspections during overhaul, with Huizhou Petrochemical as our first customer.

2013

Pioneering corrosion monitoring, thickness measurement, and corrosion analysis services for refining & petrochemical plants, with initial application at Huizhou Petrochemical.

2014

Propose development directions and components for corrosion monitoring, including monitoring of factors, process, and effects.

2015

The high-temperature online ultrasonic thickness measurement technology successfully developed, awarded a national invention patent and break the foreign technological monopoly.

2016

Focusing on developing comprehensive corrosion control and prevention technologies, introducing internationally advanced concepts. In collaboration with Fushun Petrochemical, ZKWELL Completed China’s first ‘Corrosion Control Manual for Atmospheric and Vacuum Distillation Units’,. with corrosion control loops and integrity operation window.

2017

Initiated the development of the FSM matrix three-dimensional thickness measurement technology, and passed the scientific and technological achievement appraisal of Sinopec in 2022.

2018

Breakthrough progress has been made in the research and development of pulsed eddy current inspection technology, and it is now being applied in multiple refineries across the country to identify potential hazards.

2019

Awarded the title of “Liaoning Gazelle Enterprise” by Liaoning Provincial Department of Science and Technology.

2020

Proposed a closed-loop corrosion control and operation maintenance system covering the formulation, implementation, and optimization of corrosion prevention and control strategies, which has been applied in Sichuan Petrochemical, Huabei Petrochemical, Yangzi Petrochemical, Huizhou Petrochemical, Shenghong Petrochemical, and etc.

2021

● The “Full-Process Corrosion Monitoring System and Data Management Platform for Oil and Gas Fields” has passed the scientific and technological achievement appraisal by Sinopec.
● Awarded the title of “Specialized, Sophisticated, Distinctive and Innovative Small and Medium-sized Enterprises” by Liaoning Province

2022

● Received the title of ‘Outstanding Service Provider’ from Liaoyang Petrochemical, Harbin Petrochemical, Yunnan Petrochemical, and Zhenhai Refinery.
●“Corrosion Monitoring and Intelligent Protection of Metal Components” Wins the Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in Liaoning Province.

2023

Has been awarded the national-level title of “Specialized, Sophisticated, Distinctive and Innovative ‘Little Giant’ Enterprise”

2024

● The corrosion prevention and control digital platform has been successfully developed and were piloted at Dagang Petrochemical and Zhongtianhechuang Energy Co., Ltd. This marks the formation of a three-pronged business model consisting of corrosion monitoring products, corrosion control technical services, and digital-intelligent corrosion prevention solutions.
● The employee stock ownership platform has been established, and the employee stock ownership plan has been successfully implemented.

Executive team


Zheng Liqun

Researcher, Chairman and Chief Engineer


Senior expert in the field of corrosion monitoring and testing. Graduated from Northeastern University with a bachelor's degree. He used to be a researcher of the Institute of Metals, Chinese Academy of Sciences, leader of the corrosion monitoring and detection research group, master's supervisor, deputy chief engineer of the National Engineering Research Center for Metal Corrosion Control, and a visiting scholar of the University of East Michigan. Member of the Corrosion Electrochemistry and Testing Methods Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Corrosion and Protection, member of the NACE STAG P72 Refining and Anti Corrosion Technology Expert Committee, and editorial board member of "Corrosion and Protection" and "Petrochemical Corrosion and Protection" magazines. In 2022, he was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award by the Science and Education Foundation Committee of Academician Cao Chunan. Received EMBA training from Tsinghua University and enterprise management training from Shenyang Century Education from 2004 to 2008, and obtained the certificate of Senior Professional Manager.

Tang Zhiwen

General Manager


MBA degree in Business Administration, one of the founders of ZKWELL, a leader with technical background and comprehensive management abilities. Since its establishment in 2011, the company has held core positions such as General Manager, Chief Financial Officer, and Deputy General Manager of Administration, with a comprehensive and profound understanding of the company's strategic planning, operational management, and financial system. In 2023, he/she will assume the role of General Manager and, with his/her comprehensive professional knowledge and rich management experience, will comprehensively oversee the management work and lead the sustainable and healthy development of the enterprise.

Wang Xinkai

Deputy General Manager, Senior Engineer


Formerly worked at Fushun Petrochemical of PetroChina , proficient in refining processes and chemical equipment. I was responsible for the development of the first generation of online high-temperature resistance probes in China and won the Sinopec Science and Technology Progress Award, I have been responsible for the sales and customer service of corrosion monitoring systems in the northwest region, and have accumulated rich engineering experience in the application of online monitoring technology and electrochemical protection technology in the fields of petroleum extraction and refining. The organization has promoted and completed four phases of the online corrosion monitoring system of PetroChina Dushanzi Petrochemical Branch, and has now formed a model project for online corrosion monitoring of the entire refinery and ethylene plant. In 2009, I was invited by PetroChina to participate in a major inspection of the protection work of PetroChina's refining and chemical enterprises. In 2011, responsible for the development of the "Corrosion and Protection Management Platform Based on Monitoring and Testing for PetroChina Refining and Chemical Enterprises", This has laid the foundation for achieving the integrated anti-corrosion goal of equipment monitoring, management, and control in domestic petroleum industry.

Deng Biao

Deputy General Manager,Senior Engineer


Formerly served as a corrosion engineer at Sinopec Maoming Petrochemical. Proficient in refining processes and corrosion and protection of chemical equipment, Participated in the writing of the "Risk Based Inspection RBI Implementation Manual" by Sinopec Press Participated in multiple Sinopec corrosion monitoring and testing research and technology development projects, and achieved multiple research results. Fully responsible for promoting corrosion monitoring technology and customer service in the southern region. The organization has completed the design and service of corrosion monitoring systems for 20 refineries, including Sinopec Maoming Branch, Hainan Branch, Guangzhou Branch, and PetroChina Guangxi Branch, The organization promoted and completed the shutdown corrosion inspection project of Sinopec Beijing Yanshan Branch and the shutdown corrosion inspection project of CNOOC Huizhou Refinery, which received high praise from users.

Hu Lihong

Graduated from Dalian University of Technology with a master's degree and is a senior engineer specializing in corrosion and protection Member of the NACE STAG P72 Refining and Anti Corrosion Technology Expert Committee, engaged in long-term research on corrosion and protection, has organized and completed multiple provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological development projects, obtained scientific and technological achievement appraisal, won the second prize for scientific and technological progress in Liaoning Province, and published more than 20 papers; Fully responsible for the management of the anti-corrosion service business of the company's refining and chemical enterprises, organized the establishment of management manuals, project control procedures, as well as various internal technical standards and normative documents for on-site corrosion maintenance, shutdown corrosion inspection, corrosion testing and other businesses, laying a solid management foundation for the successful replication and vigorous development of the anti-corrosion service business model, and making outstanding contributions to the healthy development of the company's anti-corrosion services.

Academician Heritage

Inheriting the theories and scientific research spirit of Academician Cao

The company's leader, researcher Zheng Liqun, in the 1990s, organically combined electrochemistry and electronics, conducted in-depth research and specific development of electrochemical measurement methods, and successfully transformed the technological achievements. In response to the corrosion monitoring needs of poor-quality crude oil processing, proposed the development route of corrosion process monitoring, corrosion result monitoring, and corrosion factor monitoring.

Academician Cao Chunan, a renowned corrosion scientist in our country and a pioneer in the field of corrosion electrochemistry, led the establishment of the National Key Laboratory of Metal Corrosion and Protection at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has authored works such as "Principles of Corrosion Electrochemistry" and "Introduction to Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy". Combining with the actual industrial production, he pointed out the path of developing corrosion monitoring technology by integrating electrochemistry and electronics, and proposed and studied corrosion measurement methods and theoretical errors such as weak polarization and differential polarization.
