Rising to the Challenge in Times of Crisis: Demonstrating Responsibility and Delivering on Strength Through Tough Battles — A Story of Outstanding Performance in Emergency Anti-Corrosion Technical Services
2026-03-02
On the eve of spring, as people joyfully anticipate the upcoming Spring Festival, the phone at Zhongke Weier rang—there had been an unexpected leak in a heat exchanger at a PetroChina petrochemical plant in Northeast China. The tube bundle had failed, and the situation urgently required rapid investigation; our company’s support was desperately needed.
A crisis is a command, and responsibility weighs heavier than Mount Tai. When faced with this urgent situation, Zhongke Weier accepted the mission at a critical moment. Company leaders immediately took the lead in directing operations, while Zhao Shuai, Manager of the Corrosion Detection Department, made swift, decisive decisions and quickly coordinated efforts to finalize a plan for reallocating equipment and personnel across regions. That very night, corrosion detection engineer Sun Hang set off from Yantai with his equipment, braving the darkness as he raced toward the maintenance site at the petrochemical plant. At 10 p.m., upon his arrival, Sun Hang promptly joined engineers Si Yi and Qin Hongyuan—both already on-site—and company leader Wang Xinkai. The four of them spent the entire night meticulously reviewing the maintenance procedures and calibrating the equipment, leaving nothing to chance in their preparations for the next day’s repair work.
The next day, just as dawn was breaking, the inspection team, led by company leader Wang Xinkai, kicked off their intensive testing and troubleshooting efforts. With precise finger movements on the equipment and data rapidly flashing across the screens, the team worked in seamless coordination, achieving a significant milestone in the afternoon’s maintenance operations. Meanwhile, preparations for the commencement of our company’s project at a certain factory in Yantai had entered a critical phase, with the equipment urgently needing commissioning. Without so much as a moment to catch his breath, Sun Hang immediately set off on his return journey, completing the Yantai equipment commissioning overnight—and by the early hours of the following morning, he was already back at the local project site, seamlessly juggling tasks between the two locations and finishing all on-site work for the Yantai project within a single day.
The maintenance work at the petrochemical plant—whose recent experience had been fraught with danger—has now reached a critical juncture. The plant’s equipment has officially been shut down for检修, and the core inspection operations must be completed overnight—time is tight, the tasks are heavy, and there’s no room for even the slightest delay. Having just wrapped up his work in Yantai, Sun Hang didn’t take time to rest; after quickly packing his bags, he set off once more. That very afternoon, he flew back to the petrochemical plant from Yantai—and as soon as he stepped off the plane, he headed straight to the maintenance site. By then, Liu Hongbin, Manager of the Corrosion Inspection Department, along with engineers Chen Ji and Wang Hejia, had already arrived on site. Once everyone had gathered, they braved the biting cold winds of Northeast China and immediately threw themselves into the night-time maintenance efforts. Team members each fulfilled their assigned roles and worked closely together, double‑checking data, inspecting tube bundles, and identifying potential hazards. When their fingers turned bright red from the cold, they rubbed them vigorously; when their eyes grew weary, they gave them a gentle rub. No one complained of hardship, no one voiced exhaustion—only the constant hum of equipment in operation and the occasional voice offering guidance and reminders. Working around the clock, pressing forward relentlessly, the team finally completed all maintenance inspections and hazard assessments flawlessly. Production at the petrochemical plant resumed smoothly, and the company’s Yantai project progressed as scheduled, bringing both sets of tasks to a perfect conclusion.
During this emergency response effort, Zhao Shuai, Sun Hang, Si Yi, Qin Hongyuan, as well as Liu Hongbin, Chen Ji, and Wang Hejia—seven dedicated colleagues—demonstrated responsibility and commitment in just three short days. They embodied the exemplary work ethic of Zhongke Weier: “Respond at a moment’s notice, ready to fight upon arrival, and certain to win every battle.” The company calls on all employees to take these seven colleagues as role models and to emulate their spirit of facing challenges head-on and striving to lead the way. Zhongke Weier will continue to uphold a strong sense of responsibility, anticipating our customers’ needs and addressing their urgent concerns, while contributing our unique professional expertise!
