Good News | Zhongke Weier Receives a Letter of Gratitude from Harbin Petrochemical

At the start of the new year, Zhongke Weier received a letter of thanks from Harbin Petrochemical. Harbin Petrochemical expressed its gratitude for the professional corrosion prevention and maintenance services that Zhongke Weier had provided over the past year.
Starting in February 2024, in accordance with the requirements of Harbin Petrochemical, Zhongke Weier dispatched its project team to Harbin Petrochemical to commence on-site corrosion maintenance and upkeep for production units. The primary services provided include monitoring process corrosion data, conducting equipment inspection and testing, as well as analyzing and summarizing corrosion conditions. The technical approach centers on corrosion control strategies to guide daily operations. From the very beginning of their on-site presence, the team proactively collected and familiarized themselves with all foundational data pertaining to the production units, systematically recorded corrosion and leakage information, reviewed previous shutdown‑related corrosion investigations, and conducted thorough, step‑by‑step analyses and assessments. Through professional evaluations, they identified key process corrosion data to monitor and pinpointed high‑risk corrosion areas within the units, then implemented systematic monitoring and testing. Any abnormal data were addressed promptly, and specialized adjustment recommendations were provided, thereby ensuring the safety and stability of production.
Throughout the year, under the leadership of Harbin Petrochemical, and in accordance with the established technical roadmap, the project team completed vortex scanning over an area of 500 square meters and performed spot thickness measurements at more than 26,000 locations. They identified 24 pipelines exhibiting severe corrosion issues. Following the detection of these potential hazards, the client implemented appropriate remedial measures, effectively preventing possible corrosion-related leakage incidents. As systematic, continuous hazard identification had not been carried out in the past, the unit had experienced several leaks caused by corrosion. The team proactively assisted the owner in conducting a temporary investigation into the corrosion events, and through professional data analysis, they pinpointed the root causes of corrosion. Working together with the client, they successfully addressed corrosion problems in multiple critical systems, including the atmospheric tower overhead system and the catalytic overhead circulation system, and developed effective improvement recommendations and control measures.

Since Harbin Petrochemical introduced its online corrosion monitoring system in 2006, the two sides have successively carried out multiple corrosion inspections during shutdowns, specialized inspections to identify potential hazards in small branch connections, and now a professional on-site corrosion maintenance and upkeep partnership. It is precisely this close collaborative relationship that has enabled our work to evolve and improve.
