Good News | Zhongke Weier Honored as an “Outstanding Service Provider” by China National Petroleum Corporation Hohhot Petrochemical Company

Recently, Zhongke Weier was commended by China National Petroleum Corporation Hohhot Petrochemical Company for its solid performance in equipment corrosion prevention and maintenance, and was awarded the title of “Outstanding Service Provider” for 2024—a honor personally presented by the leaders of Hohhot Petrochemical.
Hu Shi Hua’s corrosion maintenance services mark our company’s ninth on-site service provider for PetroChina. Since commencing corrosion maintenance operations at Hu Shi Hua in January 2024, the Zhongke Weier team has worked closely with Hu Shi Hua’s equipment and production departments, striving to ensure safe operations and long‑term reliability of production units. In line with the requirements of Hu Shi Hua Company and its leadership, the team has approached its work with a sense of responsibility and technical excellence, steadily advancing all tasks and providing effective support for the safe operation of the plant through a variety of technical services.
In terms of building a corrosion prevention system at Huhhot Petrochemical, the team assisted Huhhot Petrochemical in refining the “One Diagram, Two Tables, One Manual, One Report” framework, completing the compilation of “Corrosion Control Manuals” for four units and revising the corrosion loop diagrams for five units.
In terms of specific implementation, real-time data collection was achieved at 113 online monitoring points. Based on the project schedule, fixed-point thickness measurements and pulsed eddy current inspections were carried out, resulting in the identification of 34 measurement points where wall thickness had thinned by more than 20%. Furthermore, 30 locations with corrosion rates exceeding the specified threshold were placed under continuous monitoring. During the treatment of corrosion in the external heat exchanger pipelines of catalytic and cracking units, the workshop collaborated around the clock to complete pipeline wall thickness inspections and eddy current scans, promptly pinpointing problem areas and providing data support for emergency repairs and subsequent reinforcement efforts. By leveraging infrared thermal imaging technology, temperature monitoring was conducted regularly on equipment such as air coolers and heaters; analysis of the monitoring results helped the workshop adjust process operations, leading to the detection and resolution of over a dozen issues—including tube blockages and flow maldistribution—throughout the year. To address corrosion on the circulating water side of water coolers, operating conditions were optimized by adjusting water flow velocity and locally addressing tube blockages. In addition, relying on our company’s in-house laboratory and expert team, multiple failure analyses were conducted to determine the root causes of corrosion and leakage, while also proposing feasible recommendations that provided more precise data-driven guidance for subsequent maintenance and upkeep.
In terms of routine services and collaboration, the on-site team regularly prepares weekly and monthly anti-corrosion reports, providing feedback on the effectiveness of process-based corrosion prevention measures and offering improvement suggestions. By organizing technical training sessions, the team exchanges knowledge with workshop personnel on the proper use of equipment such as eddy current scanning and infrared monitoring. Throughout the year, more than 20 specialized corrosion protection workshops were held, significantly enhancing the company’s daily corrosion management through collaborative efforts.
