As you look back on the 12-year journey of Zhongke Weier’s corrosion monitoring business, you’ll be amazed to discover that three employees have weathered every storm and persevered alongside the company all along—working tirelessly, staying true to their convictions, and pouring their hearts into their work for two decades… They are Zhang Jing, Yang Yongkuan, and Wang Xinkai. As among the earliest veterans who followed Chairman Zheng Liqun, they began cultivating the field of corrosion monitoring with unwavering dedication when the company was still the Corrosion Monitoring Research Group under the Institute of Corrosion, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Though they each took on different roles and worked in diverse positions, they poured their sweat and passion into their tasks, realizing their own personal value while helping the team lay a solid foundation for the subsequent establishment and growth of Zhongke Weier. Today, they have all become experts in the field of corrosion monitoring and highly skilled senior management professionals.
For 20 years, they have witnessed China’s corrosion monitoring industry grow from its infancy to a thriving, bountiful field. Wang Xinkai: Witnessing the Evolution of Corrosion Monitoring Technology and Growing Together with My Team
When I first joined the Corrosion Monitoring Research Group, there were only five of us. That completely new work environment was both challenging and deeply inspiring to me—I’ve always believed that a single spark can ignite a prairie fire, and I’ve consistently strived in that very direction. I also believe that it is our love for what we do that gives us reason to exist. It’s my deep passion for the field of corrosion monitoring that has kept me committed for twenty years—whether it was rolling up my sleeves and working hard on the production floor, mastering the intricacies of probe manufacturing and installation, pioneering new markets in the Northwest, or taking on corporate management. We’ve grown from a small “workshop” with just a few people to a company employing over 200. I’ve been fortunate to witness this remarkable journey, and though we’ve faced countless difficulties and obstacles along the way, they now seem utterly insignificant. Over these two decades, we’ve encountered all manner of temptations—but thanks to my unwavering love for corrosion monitoring and the profound gratitude I feel for Chairman Zheng’s trust and mentorship, every temptation pales in comparison.
Twenty years have passed—though I’m no longer young, my heart remains full of passion and anticipation. Today, I’m already looking forward to the next two decades of development for the corrosion monitoring team, hoping that both the team and Zhongke Weier will achieve even greater growth. I also hope that every new member of the team will grow vigorously, nurture their dreams, keep striving hard, and move steadily forward.
Yang Yongkuan: Passion Makes Technical Challenges Simple
Over the past 20 years, we have overcome numerous technical barriers and solved many challenging problems in our product R&D process. From a place of initial self-doubt to boldly “competing head-to-head” with foreign products, our corrosion monitoring solutions have earned the trust and recognition of our customers. This success stems from the engineers on our corrosion monitoring team—whose unwavering commitment to deep technical expertise and steady accumulation of experience, coupled with their deep passion and relentless dedication to this field… In 20 years of frontline R&D work, there have been moments of fatigue and countless drops of sweat—but it’s precisely because of our love for what we do that I’ve been able to persevere and reap the abundant rewards we enjoy today. I firmly believe that when you’re passionate about something, even the most daunting technical challenges become far simpler.
Zhang Jing: My youth is connected to “you.”
Time flies like a shuttle, and the years pass in the blink of an eye. I joined the research group just as the corrosion monitoring team was being formed—back then, I was only 22, fresh out of university and stepping into the world for the first time. Before I knew it, I’ve already entered the age of “not yet fully wise.” Looking back on my twenty years with the corrosion monitoring team, I’ve come to realize that I spent the first decade charging ahead, providing technical services and helping users solve all kinds of problems, while the following decade was devoted to supporting operations from behind the scenes, focusing on production and production management. My youthful years have been closely tied to corrosion monitoring. I’m deeply grateful for the team’s constant support and encouragement, which have made me, a Chongqing native living far from home, feel the warmth of family.
